Reopening: Guidance and Volunteering

The Government has announced that from Monday 15th June places of worship are allowed to reopen for private prayer.

The diocese has issued Guidance for Volunteers, below, on what’s required to enable the church to reopen safely and in line with all the social distancing and hygiene guidelines we are familiar with.

Preparations and the required risk assessment have been very kindly undertaken by Pauline.

Please do read & follow this summary when coming to church for private prayer:

Please maintain the 2 metre social distance from people outside your household
– Latest guidance is that from 8th August face coverings must be worn in places of worship. Please do so if you can; exemptions are listed here.
Please be guided by the signage throughout the church
Please follow the guidance as given by the stewards at the time
Please ensure you take all your personal belongings home with you
Use hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the church. Hand sanitiser is provided, but bring some anyway.

In these times, can we ask parents to ensure children keep to their seats on the benches, to keep everyone safe.

The church has been cleaned and will be closed for cleaning between private prayer times.

Please do share this information with fellow parishioners.

Volunteers have kindly offered to open and close the church for this first week, but many hands and all that, please get in contact with Pauline at as soon as possible if you can help volunteer with this.
